Following the SOS

I love this blog. It’s a great way to follow everything Secretary Clinton is doing. They also twitter. Very cool.

I’m usually very put off by many of these social websites but I must admit to really liking twitter. I can put out innocuous tidbits without really feeling exposed. There are too many people just putting their entire lives online. I find it very creepy. Why such a need to be on display 24/7 to anyone and everyone?

Women’s Murder Club

Women's Murder Club

Women's Murder Club

So I was bored the other night and just doing some surfing. Stumbled upon a great WMC fanfic site. Then I stumbled upon a couple of nice icon sites. Anyway, after all my stumbling I realized that I really liked that show and am kind of pissed off that they canceled it. There where a number of TV shows that couldn’t survive the writers strike and this was apparently one of them. Good FEMALE characters, good story and dialog…okay so they said the BART but I can forgive those little slips. We in NorCal just call it BART. Those SoCal’s do put ‘the’ in front of a lot of things. Like The 101. We just call it 101. Weird little idiosyncrasy there. Angie Harmon’s kids have strange names. Okay, maybe their names are kind of cute but they are also really similar. Hm, I didn’t make my 1pm work deadline. Such is life. Oh, lifehacker has a good article on how to Squeeze Every Last Dollar Out of Your Income Tax Return. There are some really good suggestions in the comments as well. Anyway…work time.

Getting rid of the paper

Interesting article in the new body+soul this month. Eco Challenge: Going Paperless. It has some good tips on how to stop junk mail and catalogs. To stop your junk catalogs head to catalogchoice.org. Looks like you have to enter your personal information but it seems to really work. For your junk mail, such as credit card applications 41pounds.org is recommended. This one costs money though. For $41 it covers you for 5 years.

I think I’m going to give it a try. We recycle and we get so much damn paper it’s unbelievable. If I can even stop 1/3 of it getting to me it would be a great help.
